King's Lynn Festival - Gustav Metzger Exhibition Tour with Elizabeth Fisher, 29th June 2019, 10:00 to 11:00 at Fermoy Gallery, 7-9 St George's Courtyard (17.1 miles)
Gain a closer insight into this year�s Festival exhibition with its Curator, Elizabeth Fisher. Join her for an intimate and informal tour of Gustaf Metzger�s work. A small group will learn more about Metzger�s connection with King�s Lynn, and discover paintings and drawings made by the artist while he was living and working in town. This personal tour of the exhibition will allow you to learn more about this fascinating artist and his work which includes archival material relating to Metzger�s activities in the 1950s, his political activism, the North End Protest and the 1957 Festival exhibition.

Gustav Metzger, the famed artist/activist, revered as the pioneer of Auto-Destructive and Auto-Creative Art, began his journey into this innovative art form in noneother than, King's Lynn. From his makeshift studio-warehouse on Queens Street to his second-hand bookstall on Cambridge Market, this quaint town provided the perfect inspiration.

Dr Paul Richards will lead a guided walk that explores all these places and lets you in on a fascinating part of King's Lynn history.
